GARY R. CROWE

Gary Ray Crowe, 72, of Freedom Township, OH, passed away suddenly on June 21, 2024. He was born on February 29, 1952, in Akron, OH, to the late Ray and Donna (McRitchie) Crowe.  

He was a U.S Army veteran, who proudly served his country in Vietnam. Gary married the love of his life, Patricia Taylor, and the two enjoyed nearly 37 years together before her passing in 2017. He worked for the City of Streetsboro Street/Water Department for many years until his retirement. Gary was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary for most of his life, as he was passionate about boating; being on the water was his happy place. Gary owned some type of boat for most of his adult life, his 32’-foot Carver was his pride and joy. Most recently he was preparing to sail to the Bahamas.  

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jeffrey Crowe, Stephanie Clopton, and Diana Singleton, all of FL, Kerri (Randy) Callen, of PA, and Joleen (Aaron) Clelland of Garrettsville, OH; Gary was a proud “Papa” to 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Weitzman, of Walton Hills, OH, as well as many nephews, nieces, and dear friends.  

Gary was preceded in death by parents, his wife, Patricia Taylor Crowe, and brother, Brian Crowe.  

Please join the family for visitation on Monday, July 1, 2024, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. A funeral service will begin at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Sandra Greenberg officiating. Gary will then be buried at Drakesburg Cemetery in Freedom Twp., OH, with military honors, where he will be lovingly placed with his wife, Patricia.
