Genevera A. “Skip” Thompson, 82, a lifetime resident of Windham, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Robinson Memorial Hospital. She was born April 27, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late George W. and Lillian Mae (Gifford) Thompson.
Skip was employed at Polson Rubber for 26 years and then became a home health aide. She was a 30 year member of Bee Be Ora Rebecca Lodge #405 of Ravenna, and was a member of the Windham Congregational Church.
Skip is survived by her nieces and nephews, Barb (Hank) Podbielski, Gary (Brenda) Stanley, Kay (Phil) Ziska and Laura Stanley; as well as other nieces and nephews, many great-nieces and great-nephews and many great-great nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Harry and Donald Thompson and sisters, Georgia M. Crider, Arlene N. Stanley, and Martha L. Walters; and nephew, Jeff Stanley.
Calling hours are 10 to 11:30 AM on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. Graveside services will be held at 12 Noon at Windham Twp. Cemetery with Rev. Patrick Malone officiating.
