GEORGE LYNN DARNALL

George Lynn Darnall, age 83, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, November 9, 2023. He was born on November 24, 1939, to the late Oliver and Beatrice (nee Cole) Darnall in Berea.

He proudly served in the US Army. George loved traveling the U.S. especially the Carolinas they were his favorite. He enjoyed swimming into his later years, doing yardwork, fishing, and watching The Cleveland Indians. George was a strong Christian, attending church regularly. Above all, he loved his grandkids and never missed a moment with them.

George will be deeply missed by his children, Debra Rees, Lisa Marie (James) Thornton, and Kenneth G (Gwen); daughter-in-law, Diane; grandchildren, Zachary, Angelica, Derek, Tara (Tyler) Beal, Brandon Michael Cox, and Katelyn Marie (Nora)Thornton; great-grandchild, Vivian Beal; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 27 years, Patricia (nee Kabay); son, Steven Lynn; great-granddaughter, Aubrey; siblings, Elwood (Margaret) Darnall, Patrick Kenneth Darnall, Josephine (Mike) Lukich, Mary Francis, and Neal Darnall.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff of Plum Creek Senior Living and Serenity Hospice for the compassionate care provided to George over the years and in his final days.

The family will be holding a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, from 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm at Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Rd. (1/2 mile south of state route 303), Brunswick. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 pm at the funeral home.
