George S. Schroeder, 81, of Hiram, passed away on September 18, 2019. He was born on April 8, 1938 in Mayfield, Ohio to Benjamin and Lillian (nee Wilson) Schroeder. George married the love of his life, Susan Parkomaki, on August 11, 1962.
He graduated from Kent State University with a Master of Fine Arts degree. George was a professor at Hiram College for more than 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, canoeing and painting.
George will be dearly missed by his wife of 57 years, Susan; son, Benjamin (Rosanna) Schroeder and sister, Mary Jean (John) Korb.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may join George’s family for visitation on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from 11AM -1PM at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, Ohio 44231. Funeral services to follow at 1PM at the funeral home with Dixon Slingerland officiating. Burial to take place in Fairview Cemetery, Hiram, Ohio.
