George Thomas, 83, a long-time Nelson resident, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2010.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, a Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed horse racing. He was an award winning door-to-door salesman for Electrolux Sweepers, and a model airplane builder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Charles Tomasousky; brothers, Carl and Joe; and sister, Margaret Turos.
He is survived by his brother, Mike Thomas of Fairfax, VA. George is the father of Patricia (Phil) Leblanc of Yorba Linda, Calif, George (Debbie) of Anaheim, Calif, Gary (Jennifer) Madden of Cuyahoga Falls, Oh; 5 grandchildren; niece, Barbara (Paul) Simera of Nelson; nephews, Jim (Joann) Turos of Nelson and Joe, Jerry and David Tomasousky of Mississippi; Michael, Rick, Bobbie, Patrick Teresa of Virginia; 26 great-nephews and nieces and 5 great nieces.
Visitation is 10 to 11 AM on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, Oh. 44231. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM at the funeral home with Fr. James Lang officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ravenna with military honors.
