Heaven gained another angel, June 24th, 2018 as Gerald (Gerry) Allen Hrdlicka Sr., 69, of Braceville, OH passed away suddenly with the love of his life, his wife Ellen (nee Quesenberry) of 49 years, by his side. He was born to the late Frederick (Fritz) Stanley Hrdlicka and Mary (Mae) Anne Kainec of Cleveland, OH August 17th, 1948. He married his high school sweetheart, Ellen Sue Quesenberry, August 30th, 1969, and they lived their fairy tale until his end.
Gerry was a very wise man and a hard working one; he worked his early years as a machinist, moving to fulfill many leadership positions with Rotodyne, the now Little Tikes Company of Hudson, OH for 46 years. In 2016, he was contacted by an old friend, the founder of Little Tikes and Step2, to work together again at the new Simplay3. He was loved by all those who met him and the patriarch of our family.
Gerry is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Sue Hrdlicka, two sons Gerald Allen Hrdlicka Jr. (wife Amber Nicole Hrdlicka) and Jeffrey Allen Hrdlicka (wife Katherine Marie Hrdlicka), and grandson Adam Jeffrey Hrdlicka as well as his brother Donald Frederick Hrdlicka (wife Barbara Marie Hrdlicka). He was also loved, admired, and respected by many loving relatives, including his sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, and his numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Gerry's name to Autism Speaks, Danny Thomas St. Judes Children’s Hospital, or the Shriner’s Hospital for children.
Calling hours will be held Friday the 29th from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm and services scheduled for Saturday the 30th at 11am at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH.
