Geraldine M. "Geri" Peterson, 87, of Canal Fulton, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021. She was born March 25, 1934 in St Paul, MN to Edwin N. and Mary C. (nee Huff) Carlson and earned her teaching degree at Hamline University in 1956. She moved to Ohio in 1962 and earned her masters degree from the University of Akron in 1984. She taught 1st and 2nd grade, 3 and 4 year old preschool and College Family Relations classes.
Geri raised 2 children, and enjoyed helping and visiting with her 3 grandchildren for many years and more recently with her 2 step-grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She sang in the choir at Faith Lutheran Church for 49 years. She also served on Church Council as the Christian Education Director. Geri and her husband Ted cherished 18 years at the cabin they built on a 40 acre plot of land near Mohican State Park, and also a 12 acre tree farm in Sharon Center.
Geri was preceded in death by husband Ted and daughter Teri. She is survived by son Todd (Darlene), 3 grandchildren, Alex (Jeff) Jernejcic, Lauren (Wesley) Wootten, Casey Peterson; 2 step-grandchildren Greg Geiger and Natalie Geiger; also 3 great grandchildren Jaxson Jernejcic, Dallas Wootten and Dakota Jernejcic.
All services for Geri are private and the family has entrusted Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services 3477 Medina Rd., Medina with caring for Geri.
