Photo: Obituary: Geraldine “Gerry” Joy (nee Stifel) Townsend, 70 of Medina passed away on April 13, 2012 with her loving family by her side. She was born April 14, 1941 in Highland, MI to John A. and Mildred K. (nee Boys) Stifel. Geraldine is survived by her loving children Ralph James (Sandra) Jr. of Parma, Rhonda Jo of Medina and daughter-in-law Sharon Marie Townsend of Valley City; grandchildren: Janet Joy, Jacqueline Joan Stephens, and Rebekah Joy; great granddaughter Alyana Joy Stephens. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ralph, son Rodney Jay and her parents. Gerry was an only child; however, she was blessed with two very close friends (sisters) Patricia Catherine Adams of Detroit, MI, and Nancy Lee DiVincenzo of Brunswick, OH. She devoted her life to her family. After retiring from Medina Achievement Center she enjoyed taking trips with her friends and mystery trips with her grandchildren. She enjoyed making ceramics for her friends and family.
