Gilbert Cotton, 92, a long time resident of Paw Paw Lake, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Pearlview Rehab & Wellness Center. He was born April 27, 1918 in Toronto, Ontario Canada, one of eight children born to Claude and Frances (nee Barber) Cotton.
He was a United States Navy Veteran serving in WWII and an Electrical Engineer for Standard Oil before retiring after many years of service. He patented a variable resister as an electrical engineer, loved the sciences, and attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Mr. Cotton is survived by his children Dale Cotton, Ellen Cotton and husband George Rawlings, and Nadine Cotton and husband Jeffrey Durgin; grandchildren Kelly Wohlgemuth, Kevin Wells, Matthew Cotton, and Alex Rawlings; and great-grandchildren Sebastian, Kaleb, and Cason.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie, son Raymond, and his parents.
