Glenn Ray "Gooch" Gough, 74, passed away at his home on Saturday, June 25, 2011, in the presence of his loving family. He was born in Garrettsville on November 24, 1936 to Frieda "Pat "(Patch) and Ray "Buck" Gough.
Glenn was construction worker, union carpenter and cabinet maker. He spent his entire life in Garrettsville except for the three years he served in the United States Marine Corps where he obtained the rank of Sergeant, and two years working on the Glen Canyon Dam in Arizona. He enjoyed playing the organ, motorcycling with his sons, going to auctions, rebuilding old tractors, NASCAR, attending high school reunions, and getting his granddaughters on and off the school bus. His favorite time of the day was watching the sun rise, listening to the birds, and watching the sun go down.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years "Sug" Loreda (Dean); sons David (Cindy) Gough of Garrettsville, Rick (Kathy) Gough of Ashland, Scott (Kim) Cheff of Columbia Falls, MT, Mitchell (Teresa) Gough of West Farmington, and Matthew (Becky) Gough of Garrettsville; siblings Connie Stoffel of Sun City, CA, Terry (Carol Gough of Mantua, Danny Kim (Cheri) Gough of Henderson, NV, ten grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held Thursday, June 30, 2011 from 5-8 P.M. at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St. Garrettsville, OH 44231. Graveside services will be held Friday, July 1, 2011, beginning at 2 P.M. at Park Cemetery in Garrettsville with full military honors. Please meet at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions may be made in Glenn's name to a charity of your choice.
