Gordon Usrey, long time resident of Sharon Center, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at the age of 76.
Gordon was born in Akron, Ohio on March 28, 1946 to Bill and Betty (Strader) Usrey. He married the love of his life, Diane Zambory on August 31, 1985. He welcomed his son, Bryan, in 1988.
He was a long time data processing manager of Ohio Bell, who handled many positions in both the Brecksville and Akron areas. Prior to his retirement, Gordon served as the main contact in resolving customer issues before referral to the legal department.
Gordon and Diane liked to travel. They went to Hawaii, France, the UK, and toured around the US, including his favorite place, St. Simons Island which they visited frequently. They liked to explore the history of the island, riding bikes up and down the coast, and enjoying a relaxing time with family. Gordon spent three weeks in Seattle with his son and daughter-in-law recently.
He is survived by his son Bryan (Kaylin), brother Duane (Susan), father in-law Edward, sister-in-law Debbie (Dave), Drema (Richard), and many nieces and nephews.
Gordon was preceded in death by his wife Diane, daughter Samantha, parents Bill and Betty and mother-in-law Johanna.
Gordon will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
