Dr. Harold Papiska, 83, of Garrettsville, passed away surrounded by his loving family on June 25, 2016. He was born on September 1, 1932 to John and Lillian (Kucharek) Papiska. Harold graduated from Kent State University where he earned his Bachelor’s degree and University of Nebraska Lincoln where he earned his Master’s and Doctorate Degree.
He dedicated his life to his work with Eli Lilly Company as a Senior Microbiologist. Harold was very active in Kiwanis, serving as the Lt. Governor for Northeast Ohio. He was active in sports in High School and played in the band. Harold enjoyed fishing and gardening, his specialty was tomatoes. He was a very giving man. Harold was active in the Englewood Methodist Church in Florida and attended the Edinburg United Church in Edinburg, Ohio. He loved spending time with his beloved family.
Harold is survived by his sister, Mary Ann Leggett of Garrettsville; brother-in-law, Doc Leggett; nieces, Terry (Gary) Stewart, Judy (Jerry) Vecchio, Patty Kennard, Susie (Tim) Knudsen and Amy (Bruce) Lange; beloved friends, Linda and Henry and Jim and Marilyn and many great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016 from 6-8 PM and Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 10-11 AM at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, Ohio. Services will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, 11 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Paroz officiating. Burial to follow at Park Cemetery in Garrettsville.
