Harold “Jack” West, a sixty-four-year resident of Hiram, beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place on December 26, 2019. He entered this world on September 9, 1929 in Cleveland, OH to Harold and Anna (Hydock) West.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years Janet (née Bercheck) West; children, Andrew West and Rebecca (Anthony) Miranda; grandchildren, Kody West, Chase Dye, Aislinn and Gabriel Miranda.
Jack graduated from East Tech in 1947 and continued working in the photography field. He served in the Army Signal Corps in Germany from 1951-1953 and the Army Reserves for several years. Jack worked as a professional industrial photographer in Cleveland until 1969. He then worked at Samuel Moore/Eaton (Mantua) where he retired in 1992. Jack served on the Hiram Township Zoning Board from 1978-1988. He enjoyed hunting and raising English Springer Spaniels. He will be greatly missed.
Please join Jack’s family for memorial visitation on Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St. Garrettsville. A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations to either St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Wounded Warrior Project in Jack's honor would be appreciated.
