Harriett E. Lawless, 79, of Garrettsville passed away at Robinson Memorial Hospital on Monday, March 10, 2014, after courageously fighting a battle with cancer for many years. She was born on Sunday, August 19, 1934 in Nelson, Ohio to Roger and Fern (Yonker) Knowlton.
Harriett was a business college graduate and was employed at Polson Rubber and Energizer Battery where she retired. Harriett loved gardening of all types, and taking care of her grandchildren. She loved cooking, especially for family gatherings and baking cookies and making candy. She took pride in making the holidays special with seasonal decorations and food. She enjoyed puzzles, word searches, crossword puzzles and meeting with classmates at Cracker Barrel once a month.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Allen Lawless of Garrettsville; sons, Jeffrey (Jodie) Lawless of Garrettsville and Gary (Terri) Lawless of Hiram; grandsons, Jacob (Caitlin) Lawless of Kent, Jeremy (Dezaree) Lawless of Chicago, and Eric Lawless of Hiram; sister, Alice (Knowlton) Miller and brother, Earl Knowlton both of Garrettsville; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Calling hours are 6-8 PM on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville Ohio 44231. Funeral Services will be at 11 AM on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. Chris Martin officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Garrettsville.
