Harriett Abigail Oros, 95, of Garrettsville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 20, 2024, with her family by her side. She was born in Nelson Township on December 26, 1928, to the late Blanche (nee Adams) and Owen Stanton Sheehan.
A lifelong resident of the Nelson/Garrettsville area, Harriett was a waitress for over 50 years and had many interesting customers, including The Rolling Stones and some Cleveland radio personalities. She saw a lot in her long lifetime and liked to keep up on current events. Clear to the end, Harriett could relay memories from many events such as the local effects of The Great Depression and World War II, watching the tanks move in to Kent State University because of the May 1970 protests, and she could discuss political topics from many decades. Harriett was known to enjoy parties and had a wonderful sense of humor; her favorite t-shirt read “It took me 95 years to create this masterpiece!” She was a sweetheart, and her memory will be cherished by all that were blessed to know her.
Harriett will be deeply missed by her grandson, Sam (Dana) McCoy; sister-in-law, Ruth Sheehan, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son and light of her life, Gary Oros; as well as many siblings, including her loving brother, Ray Sheehan.
Per Harriett’s wishes, services will be private and are entrusted to Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231.
