Helen Hancsak (nee Girman), age 98, of Medina County, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018, when she peacefully joined her husband, Michael Hancsak, who passed away March 12, 1987. She was born on January 11, 1920 in Cleveland, to the late John and Anna (nee Ferenc) Girman. Helen and Michael shared 35 years of marriage.
Helen worked as a beautician and owned a shop on Fleet Avenue. In her younger years, she was active in 4-H and served as a 4-H Leader. She was very active in the Medina Senior Center and volunteered for Visiting Nurses and the Election Poll. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and quilting, but her main passion was her family.
She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Michele Hancsak, Lynn Hancsak and Denise (John Schniegenberg) Hancsak; grandchildren, Jenna, Stacy, and John Schniegenberg; brother, Frank Girman and sister-in-law, Eva Star; and was loved by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, John Girman; sister and brother-in-law, Jennie and Sid Churgovich; and sister-in-law, Ann Girman.
Friends may join the family for Visitation on Friday, June 29, 2018 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road, (corner of River Styx and Rt. 18), Medina, OH 44256.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Helen on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 10 AM in St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 8700 Brecksville Road, Brecksville, OH 44141. Family will receive visitors at Church one-hour prior from 9 AM to 10AM. (Please meet at Church.) Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brook Park, OH.
