Photo: Obituary: Holly C. Owens, 73 of Garrettsville, passed away on Thursday April 12, 2012 at his residence. He was born January 6, 1939 in Grundy, Virginia to Larkin and Rose (Looney) Owens. Holly served in the U.S. Army as a Green Beret in Korea and Vietnam. He was co-owner and operator of Hi-Butch Meats. Holly was a lifetime member of the Aurora VFW. He enjoyed hunting deer and bear, camping and the great outdoors. He loved watching sports, old war movies and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his children, Ron (Kathy) Miller of Maryland, Jeff (Kathy) Miller of West Virginia, Anne (William) Anderson of Parkman and George (Denise) Owens of Garrettsville; nieces, Audrey Miller, Delphine Grizzle, Connie Miller, Patty Hart; grandchildren, Kristina, Kodie, Audrey, Kara, Joshua, Paul, Jacob, K’Cee, Noah, Samantha, and Billie Joe. He is also survived by his ex-wife and friend Thelda of Newbury. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Harlene, baby boy Owens, brothers, Claude Owens, Toby “Hayes” Owens and nephew Rocky Owens. Services will be held at a later date.
