Howard Leo Broadbent, 70 of Brunswick, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at his home. He was born January 24, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio to Earl and Alice (nee Jones) Broadbent.
Mr. Broadbent was a retired Terminal Manager for Hookup Inc. where he was employed for over 40 years. He was also a Bus Operator for Strongsville City Schools for the last 8 years. Mr. Broadbent was a Medina Eastern Star #266 member, retired Captain of the Brunswick Volunteer Fire Department, Masonic #58 A&FM member and 32nd Degree of The Valley of Cleveland. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, his beloved Schnauzer mixed dog “Spike” and his family.
Mr. Broadbent is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Barbara (nee Lang) Broadbent; daughters Phyllis O’Connell of Brunswick, Ohio and Karen (Guy) Taylor of Rittman, Ohio; siblings Beverly Dockery of North Carolina; grandchildren Samantha, Melanie and Alexander Reinhart of Rittman, Ohio and Allison O’Connell of Brunswick, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Earl Broadbent.
Friends may join the family for visitation on, September 28, 2010 from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road (1/2 mile South of Route 303), Brunswick. Eastern Star Services will be held at the Funeral Home at 6:30 P.M on Tuesday, September 28, 2010. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at The Funeral Home. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
