Howard V. Eggleston, Jr. age 68 of Brunswick, passed away on July 13, 2020 at his home.
He was born on June 24, 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Howard and Margaret (nee Vargo) Eggleston.
Howie was a sweet and gentle soul. He often had a smile on his face that was just as contagious as his heart-warming laugh, especially when being tickled. He enjoyed spending time with his caregivers and housemates; the activity didn’t matter, just being in the company of others was enough to make him happy. It was the simple things in life that Howie appreciated the most; the sounds of nature, listening to others sing, having conversations with his friends, feeling the warmth of the sun, and proudly wearing a hat from his unique collection. If Howie had the comfort of his favorite items in his hand, he was smiling from ear-to-ear.
He will be deeply missed by his caregiver at Neff House and by all the staff at Transitional Living Centers, where he resided for 22 years. They have been Howie’s family and will always hold a special place in their hearts for him. His guardian of 40 years (APSI) has also had a significant positive impact on the quality of his life. It’s with this love and support that so many fond memories of Howie have been shared over the years. He will continue to be remembered for the kind-hearted and genuine man he was.
Private services were held for Howie by the Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road, Brunswick.
