IRIS E KOTLAREK

Iris E. Kotlarek, 70, of Brunswick, Ohio passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. She was born November 18, 1952, in Ontario, Canada to the late Carmen and Olive Grant.

Iris was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Valley City. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Iris never met a stranger and loved giving hugs. She was everybody’s sweetheart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Kotlarek Sr.; brothers, Leo, Harold, Weller and Earl Grant; sisters, Muriel Klatt, Marilyn Wood and June Pringle.

Iris is survived by her son, Kenneth Jr. (Laura) of Medina; daughter, Kristina (Robert) McKown of Brunswick; grandchildren, Jacob (Melanie) Brown, Kayley Brown, Jonah Kotlarek and Noah Kotlarek; great grandchild, Greyson Brown; brother, Eythel Grant; sister, Ina Newman; loving companion, John Discenza and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 17, 2023, at Carlson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Rd. Medina, Ohio 44256 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm and on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 1800 Station Rd., Valley City, Ohio 44280 in the new church from 10:00am to 11:00am with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00am with Fr. Daniel Reed celebrant.
