Jack Copley, age 78 of Brunswick, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020 at Hospice of Southwest General, following a lengthy illness.
Born on August 11, 1941 to the late Carl and Nannie (nee Paulen) Copley in Logan, West Virginia.
Jack served in the United States Army before being employed as a forklift operator for TRW for many years.
Jack enjoyed being a sports fanatic, especially loved watching Ohio State Football and the Cleveland Indians. He also loved playing and coaching softball in Northeast Ohio, he coached for his granddaughters softball teams and for the rec-center basketball teams.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Phyllis (nee Tarbell); beloved children, Sue (Mario) Costanzo, Richard (Melissa) Wojtala, and Daniel Wojtala, dearest uncle of many; cherished grandchildren, Kelli (Andrew) Schmeider, Kristi Zaccaro, Kimmy (Matthew) Bruening, Anthony Wojtala, Nick Wojtala, Mackenzie Wojtala, Caleb Wojtala, Jackie (Beth) LaForce, and Joey LaForce; great grandchildren, Kayla Bosak, Riley and Andrew LaForce, Dillon, Alexandria and Austin LaForce.
Jack was preceded in death by his loving family of eleven brothers and sisters; children, Debbie LaForce and Michael Wojtala and his beloved pet “Casper”.
The family will receive friends for Jack on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, from 4-7 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road, Brunswick (1/2 mile south of Route 303). Due to the health pandemic private funeral services will be held by invitation only. PLEASE WEAR A MASK IF POSSIBLE ~ ALL SOCIAL DISTANCE PROTOCOLS WILL BE OBSERVED.
The family would like to suggest anyone coming to the public visitation please wear anything Ohio State or Cleveland Indians.
