Jacqueline Plevich Aglinsky hooked arms with her Angels and headed Home on May 8, 2011, leaving behind her husband and high school sweetheart of 58 years, Victor, and her daughters Jeannie Aglinsky and Susanne Aglinsky Schaffer, brother Joel (Rose) Plevich, brothers-in-law Tom and William, and sisters-in-law Catherine Whitmer and Rosemary (Ben) Palmer.
Eagerly greeting Jackie on the Other Side were her parents Mike and Pearl (Zolikoff) Plevich, in-laws William and Josephine (Stankus) Aglinsky, sister-in-law Betty (Aglinsky) Wayne, and a welcoming crowd of family and friends who have gone on ahead.
Jackie grew up in Cassville and Morgantown, WV. She earned a teaching degree from West Virginia University, and teaching became her life’s work. Jackie was one of the original Superwomen: passionate about her family yet dedicated to teaching for the Berea School District. Jackie also taught religion classes for St. Mary’s in Berea and St. Ambrose in Brunswick. Jackie lived her life with a quiet joy, enthusiasm and a dedication to family and friends. She was generous, loving, and indomitable, and her laughter and golden spirit brought a bright light to the world. In spite of living with chronic pain later in life, Jackie drew on an inner strength to help hundreds of others cope with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome through a nonprofit organization that she co-founded with her daughter, Jeannie. In retirement, Jackie rediscovered her artistic side, winning awards and selling hundreds of ceramic pieces at art shows. In her last 12 years, Jackie faced the challenge of Alzheimer’s, a particularly cruel road for someone so intelligent, talented, and well-read. With Jeannie as her full-time caregiver, Jackie met the enemy with a quiet grace and courage, and valiantly fought a battle that she could not win.
A hug of thanks is offered to Hospice of Medina County, who provided an incredible amount of compassion and care in a very short time.
