James Leroy Blake, 88, of Windham, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at his residence. He was born February 19, 1926 in Southington, Ohio to Benjamin Harrison and Margaret Sinclair (Martin) Blakeley.
He served our country honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a machinist at J.B. Bayless. He was a good provider for his family and was an avid golfer and Steelers fan. He enjoyed repairing machinery and spending time with his family and many friends.
James is survived by his daughters, Sinda (Richard) Britton, Bonnie (Thomas) Stewart, Kathy Blake, Connie (Arthur) Davis and Rhonda Benson all of Windham; a sister, Opal Crawford of Newton Falls; 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada in 1997; son, Walter Blakeley; and siblings, Benjamin, Gilbert, Myrtle, Alice, Homer, Kenneth, Harvey and Charlet.
Calling hours are 5-8 PM on Monday, February 16, 2015 and Tuesday, one hour prior to the 11 AM service at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, Ohio 44231. Burial will follow at Windham Township Cemetery with military honors.
