Photo: Obituary: James D. Brunn, a Freedom resident, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Emeritus at Ravenna. He was born July 24, 1938 in Ravenna, Ohio the son of Guy and Carolyn (Sprafka) Brunn. Mr. Brunn was a 1956 graduate of Garfield High School. He served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force in Alaska and then worked for 25 years as Portage County superintendent of Water Treatment plants in Ravenna and Streetsboro. He was also employed by Hiram College in Hiram, OH for 15 years as a master plumber. As coach of little league baseball teams in Garrettsville, his teams won regional championships. Other interests included fishing, boating and motorcycling. Surviving children include Eric (Tracy) Brunn of West Virginia, Chris (Victoria) Brunn of California, Craig (Stephanie) Brunn of Virginia and six grandchildren. Other survivors include his siblings Gloria Brunn, brothers Gene (Sarah) Brunn and Mark Brunn all of Freedom and sister Diane Dvorak of Lyndhurst. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Raymond, Daniel and Gary. Calling hours are 10 AM to 1 PM on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231 where funeral services will be held at 1 P.M.
