James A. Curby, Sr., 80, of Ravenna, passed away with his loving family surrounding him on Thursday, January 4, 2024. He was born January 16, 1943, in Cleveland, to the late George T. and Mabel L. (Hruby) Curby.

He worked many years before retiring as a Foreman at Harcourt in Ravenna. Jim belonged to the Garrettsville Masonic Lodge, #246. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards with friends.

Jim will be deeply missed by his wife, Beverly (Hensel) Curby, with whom he was blessed to share 58 years of marriage; children, Cherie (Edwin) Barnett, James A. (Doreen) Curby, Jr., Deborah (Travis) Campbell, and Georgia (Phil) Egbe; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lawrence.

Please join the family for a visitation on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. A Masonic Service will begin at the funeral home at 6:00 p.m. Jim will then be taken to Mark C. Brooks Funeral Home, 146 Municipal Building Rd., Melcroft, PA 15462. A visitation will take place at the funeral home Thursday, January 11, 2024, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service to begin at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Douglas Nolt officiating. Jim will then be lovingly laid to rest at Byerly-Freeman Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, PA.
