JAMES H. MCCUNE

James H. McCune, 74, of Windham Township, passed away at his home, with his loving wife by his side, on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. He was born on May 21, 1948, in Calhoun County, WV, to the late Joseph A. and Luella (nee Wilson) McCune.

He enjoyed spending quality time with his family, raising his miniature donkeys, and riding his horse, Midnight. He loved his job of 46 years as a railroad construction worker, which made him many lifelong friends.

Jim will be deeply missed by his wife, Helen "Kitty" McCune (nee Knisely), with whom he was blessed to share 52 years of marriage; sons, James "Jay" (Marija) McCune and Jeffery "Jeff" (Summer) McCune; grandchildren, Justin (Christy), Skyy (Benjamin Smith), Baylee, Ashleigh, Dylan, Kristina, Matthew, Saralyn, and Colt; great-grandchildren, Luna, Harlow, and Henry; siblings; Jean Tidd, Bonnie Schiffler, Georgia (Steve) Phelps, Minnie (Lowell) Gossett, Goldie Goodrich, Carl (Wanda) McCune, Tom McCune, and Ben (Vickie) McCune, as well as many nephews, nieces, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Stella (Fred) Argabrite, and brothers-in-law, Jim Tidd, Larry Schiffler, and Vernor Goodrich.

There will be a Celebration of Life to honor Jim's journey on Sunday, March 26, 2023, from 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M., at the American Legion, 9960 E. Center St., Windham, OH 44288. Care for Jim was entrusted to Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231.
