James W. Miller, of Garrettsville, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Robinson Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 8, 1934 in Windham and raised there.
Jim was a retired Garrettsville police sergeant, serving 23 years. In 1977 he founded Miller Lawn & Garden. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and was a NASCAR fan and an avid sports fan. He cherished spending time with his beloved family and friends.
Jim is survived by his wife, Gerry (Gwara) of Garrettsville, whom he married August 5, 1972; his children, Kathy (James) Bailey, Judy (Dennis) Elwood , Scott (Cathy) Miller all of Garrettsville; Michael (Kelly) Miller of Seven Hills and Jennifer (Aaron) Click of Garrettsville; brother, Grover “Bud” (Sammy) Miller of Montana; sister, Mary Dutter of Montana; grandchildren, Jimmy, Stephanie, Kristen, Brooke, Shawn, Chelsey, Heather, Austin, Shannon, Mike and Makenzie and great-grandchildren, Dezaray, Rhiley, Danny, Payton and James; and his little shadow “Gizmo.”
Calling hours are 5-7 PM on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, Ohio 44231. Funeral Services are at 1 PM on Sunday at the funeral home with Fr. James Lang officiating. Burial will be at Park Cemetery, Garrettsville.
