James (Jim) Rohacs of Medina, Ohio passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 14, 1939 to Julius and Johanne Rohacs.
He was a 1957 graduate of Brunswick High School. Jim proudly served 4 years in the Navy on the submarine U.S.S. Tirante, as a radar/sonar operations. He then worked for the Governments space program in teaching and recovery of space capsules and later transferred to the Treasury Department. Jim moved to Manassas, VA. and also worked in Washington, DC. During that time he enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and traveling. He was a collector and lover of Classical Music. After retiring he moved to Medina, Ohio to be near his family.
He is survived by his brother, Jack (Barbara) Rohacs; and sister, Judy (Russ) McElroy. Jim was a loving uncle to Terri (Steve) Hughell and Mark (Sunny) Rohacs; great uncle to Colten (Ericka) Hughell, Hillary (Kevin) Fink, Brittany (Aaron) Crocker, and Kyle Rohacs; and great-great uncle to Harper Hughell.
James is preceded in death by his parents.
Please join the family for a Celebration of Life for James on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Savior Lutheran Church 1605 Center Rd., Hinckley, Ohio. Funeral Service will follow visitation at 11:00 AM. The Rohacs family entrusted arrangements for James to, Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Rd., Medina, Ohio. Facial coverings are required. Please observe recommended social distancing guidelines. Interment will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 12:45 PM.
