JANET LEE CHOEKY

August 12, 1936 — January 26, 2023

Janet Lee Choeky (nee Kopper), of Chatham, passed away on Thursday, January 26th, 2023. She was born August 12, 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Leonard and Catherine (nee Flanigan) Kopper. “Boo” as she was known by her husband, Rich (to whom she was blessed to share 63 years of marriage), will be greatly missed by Rich and her children: son David, and daughters Diane Blackburn and Lisa (Rod) Keeley, and her sister Lois Gergely. She loved time with her grandchildren: Ryan (Rachel), Brandon (Gina), Olivia (Ian), Sheri, Colin and Madison and great-grandchildren: Alaina, Alazay, Brooklynn, Braylynn, Alarah as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Janet’s love of games of all types and TV shows (and her ongoing struggle with technology – HA!) was only rivaled by her love of family and friends. She was an expert at making lists for any and all reasons.

She was a lifelong resident of Northeast Ohio and was a graduate from Lutheran West High School. Jan truly celebrated and enjoyed life and the frequent and many times and holidays spent with those important to her. Jan and Rich found their happiness in the relaxed “country life” their home exuded, and they recently found the fun companionship of Bella and Baby; their two rescued kittens.

In-lieu of flowers, donations in Janet’s name would be greatly appreciated to Kitten Krazy: https://www.kittenkrazy.org/donate .

In keeping with Janet’s wishes, the family will have a private celebration of life. Care for Janet was entrusted to Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Medina, Ohio.
