Janice Carol Kanserski, age 70 of Westfield Township, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017. She was born on October 3, 1946 to Laddie and Mary (nee Yomnick) Svoboda.
Janice was a graduate of North Royalton High School, Class of 1964. She resided in Medina County for 50 years and was active in The Red Hat Society and her church; Our Lady Help of Christians participating with Readings and Eucharist. She was a member of The Medina Weaving Guild and a Teachers Aid with Westfield Elementary for 20 years. She also enjoyed jewelry making and working with Interstate Studios School Pictures and at the voting polls. Janice and Lawrence Kanserski were married on July 3, 1965 sharing 51 plus years together. During retirement in Florida they made many friends. Everyone looked forward to receiving her handmade cards. She loved her humming birds that she cared for when they returned every year. She will be remembered as kind and helpful to everyone.
She will be dearly missed by her beloved husband Lawrence, sons; Lawrence, Lance (Peggy), Leonard (David), grandchild, Bonnie, great-grandchildren; Scott and Gabrielle, also her sisters; Karen (Richard) Prospal and Nancy (John) Hanacek and many nieces and nephews. Janice was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 from 3 to 7 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (corner of River Styx & Rt. 18),Medina, Ohio 44256.
Visitation also will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 10 to 11 AM at the Church. Mass of Christian Burial following at 11 AM at Our Lady Help of Christians Church Parish of Seville, 60 High Street, Seville, Ohio 44273. (PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). Rev. Edward Suszynski will officiate.
