Jean Hulme, (nee Vannorsdall), age 91, of Wadsworth, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Justin T. Rogers Hospice Center, Copley. She was born on August 1, 1929 in Akron to the late William and Edith (nee Overmyer) Vannorsdall.
Jean attended Berea Schools and graduated from Capital University in Columbus in 1951, with degrees in English and Education. That same year, Jean married Walter Hulme, whom she shared 67 wonderful years with until his death in 2018. They built a home in North Royalton where they raised their three children and lived the majority of their lives. Jean was employed as a teacher--three years at Berea City Schools and twenty-five with North Royalton City Schools. After retiring in 1990, Jean volunteered for another twenty-five years at North Royalton in the school office copy room. Jean was a member of the Garden Club, Girl Scout Troop leader, coordinated student after-school bowling leagues, and was active in her church.
She will be dearly missed by her sons, Bruce (Beth), Roy (Mary Ann); daughter, Joy (Steven “Sandy”) Helms; grandchildren, Jessy, Matt (Henna), Eric, Ann; great grandchildren, Raulins, Lilli, Aniston, Heidi, and Benny.
In addition to being predeceased by her beloved husband Walter, Jean was also predeceased by a brother John Vannorsdall and sister-in-law Patricia.
A private family service will be held on Monday, December 28, 2020, at 10:00 AM at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sharon Center and will be live streamed on the St. Paul's facebook page

for others wanting to participate. Interment will follow at Hope Memorial Gardens, Hinckley. Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services 3477 Medina Rd. (corner of Rte 18 & River Styx Rd.) Medina, Ohio are entrusted to handle the arrangements.
