Jean D Hyer, 87, of Medina, Ohio passed away peacefully on the morning of July 29, 2021. She was born July 9, 1934, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late James and Isabelle Davis.
She Graduated from Chagrin Falls High School in Ohio with the class of 1952. Jean attended Miami University and Kent State University where she earned her teaching degree, specializing in Art Education. Her creativity and love of design were always evident in everything she did from school projects with her kids to home decorating. She had a gift of making things beautiful that her family will truly miss.
Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She met the love of her life, Bruce Hyer while attending Miami University and had just celebrated 62 years of marriage. Jean loved traveling, reading and spending time with her family. She was known and loved by all that knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bruce J. Hyer and her three children Tracy Hyer of Streetsboro, Wendy (Jeffrey) Jolley of Mansfield, and Thomas Hyer of Streetsboro; grandsons, Andrew Jolley, Camron Jolley and Grayson Jolley. Jean loved watching her grandsons grow through the years and was extremely proud of the men that they have become.
Proceeding her in death were her parents James Davis and Isabelle Davis, her brother James Davis and her nephew James Davis.
A celebration of life for Jean Hyer will be held from 2-5pm on Saturday Sept 4th at the Hyer residence located at 5520 Hideaway Drive in Medina OH. 44256. We look forward to seeing anyone who can attend this celebration. Casual attire will be appropriate. Please bring along a favorite memory or picture to share. Arrangements have been entrusted to Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Rd., Medina, Ohio.
