Jean Mae Kennedy (nee Nickels), age 88, of Brunswick and Conneaut, passed away on October 22, 2019. Jean was born on April 29, 1931 in Conneaut, OH, to Harold and Emily (nee Jones) Nickels.
Jean was a member in good standing of the Greatest Generation, beginning as an office worker at P&C Docks in Conneaut Harbor in the late 1940s and early ’50s. Her cooking and canning skills are the stuff of legends, especially her vegetable soup and family events including apple sauce weekends with her grandchildren. Jean was truly accomplished at the sewing machine, producing clothing, costumes and dozens of heirloom quilts for generations of family members.
