Jean F. Tippen, 87, formerly of Garrettsville, passed away surrounded by her loving family Wednesday, October 13, 2021. She was born December 17, 1933, in Garfield, to the late John and Margaret (nee Matthews) Knapp.
She was a strong, ornery, and big hearted woman, who was proud to be a machinist at Black & Decker for years. Jean like to crochet and do any kind of crafting, she enjoyed watching football especially Ohio State, board and card games and her family meant everything to her. She never forgot a birthday and you could always expect phone call (maybe a day early or a day late, but she always remembered.)
Jean will be deeply missed by her children, John (Cindy) Tippen, Colleen, (Steve} Johnston, Tricia (Tom) Orosz,, Sharon (Jim) Lyons; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John R. Tippen; children, Kathy and Tim, and siblings, Jack, Lois, Margaret and Joan.
Per Jean's wishes, she is to be cremated. The family would like to invite friends for a Celebration of Life Saturday, October 30, 2021, 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at The Independent Order of Odd Fellows, 7272 Austin Powder Rd., Glenwillow, OH, 44139. Services for Jean were entrusted to Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center Street, Garrettsville, OH, 44231.
