As part of a military family, he was born in Heidelberg, Germany on February 13, 1964. Due to an unfortunate vehicle accident, he left us to go to heaven on October 10, 2018. He attended the Cloverleaf School system and had a life-long passion of 30 years being a truck driver. His most recent career move, being a Highland school bus driver, gave him great enjoyment carting the kids around (#28, Mr. Jeff), the band members and their instruments of Highland High School, and enjoying the camaraderie of his fellow bus drivers.
Jeff was a great family man spending time riding four-wheelers, taking vacation trips, and numerous cookouts on the deck. He found time to ride motorcycles with his buddies and his sons. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lucy (nee Gaj); his sons, Jeff Jr., Harley, Bradley; his daughters, Michelle Archer (Gary), and Haley; his grandchildren, Palmer and Jazelle; mother, Bonnie; sister, Kathy Amheiser (Charlie); and his brother, Steve (Denise). He is proceeded in death by his father Kenneth McElwain.
He had much love for numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousin, in-laws and all the children on his bus.
Friends may join the family for Jeff’s visitation Monday, October 15, 2018 from 12:00PM to 4:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM, and on Tuesday, October 16, from 12:00PM to 2:00PM, followed by a 2:00PM service for Jeff at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road, Medina, OH 44256.
