JILL LOUISE GEIGER

December 9, 1959 — July 12, 2019

Jill Louise Geiger (nee Andersen), age 59, loving wife, mother, sister and aunt of Medina, Ohio, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, Florida on July 12, 2019.

Jill was brought into this world on December 9, 1959, in Orange, New Jersey by her loving parents, Ruth and Albert Andersen. She began her life attending bible school every Sunday, which her father taught, and singing in the church choir alongside her mother. She was a little sister to Robert Andersen and Karen Timmons, both of Livingston, New Jersey.

She attended Mountain High School in West Orange, New Jersey, and became a talented twirler in the school’s marching band. She then went on to earn a degree in public speaking at Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania. Communication came naturally to her, thanks to her vibrant personality and her uncanny ability to connect with everybody that had the chance to meet her. During her time there, she met her husband, John Geiger, and they married on May 5, 1990.

She developed her independence and outgoing personality as a Jersey girl, but embraced the quiet, calmer pace of life that her 29 years of living in Northeast Ohio had to offer. She traded in her professional career at People’s Express Airlines and Chubb Insurance to become a full-time classroom mom, soccer mom, wife, and mother to her two sons, Jake and Jeff. Along the way she adopted many pets that completed the Geiger family. Her loved ones always came first, and she never hesitated to make all the sacrifices necessary to make sure her family was taken care of. She was always finding new ways to support her family through work, sports and life lessons. Her guidance will surely never be forgotten.

She loved the ocean, the beach, animals, cooking, and most of all, her family. She was a devoted wife and mother who cared for her two boys and husband with overwhelming love and compassion every single day of their lives. Without her love and support, they would not be who they are today, and they will always carry her in their hearts.

No matter where she was or who she was talking to, her smile and charisma were sure to light up the room. Jill’s laughter was contagious, and she was always willing to stand up for those who weren’t able to stand up for themselves. She never thought twice about being there for whoever needed it most. Her kindhearted spirit will live on through her husband, children, siblings and many friends.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, John; two sons, Jake and Jeff; older sister, Karen; older brother, Robert; and her nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.
