Joan Kodash, 82, formerly of Mantua, went home to her Lord and Savior Thursday, November 18, 2021. She was born December 13, 1938, in Warren to the late Anthony and Amelia (nee Krobot) Haberstroh.
She graduated from St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing in 1959. On January 14, 1961, Joan married the love of her life, Edward George Kodash. They settled into the Warren area, until 1979, when they moved to Mantua. She was an avid reader and loved to continuously learn. Joan enjoyed gardening and tending to her plants and flowers. She enjoyed cooking, was famous for her Christmas cookies, and loved to make specialty dishes for and with her family. Joan looked forward to spending time with her many lifelong childhood friends (Club Time). She loved her husband and 5 children to whom she was an outstanding listener, helper, guider, supporter, and loving counselor.
Joan will be deeply missed by her children, Karen Kodash, Edward (Holly) Kodash, Michael (Ann) Kodash, Kari (Bruce) Hopp, and Kathi (Dwane) Adams; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Edward Kodash, Sr.
The family would like to invite friends for a visitation to honor Joan's memory on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 11045 St Joseph Blvd, Mantua, OH 44255. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow. A graveside service will take place Monday, November 29, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Westlawn Cemetery, 3983 Ohio SR 82 Mantua, OH, 44255, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
