JOHN "JACK" F. MCNEELEY

John “Jack” McNeeley 90, of Brunswick, passed away November 1, 2010 at his residence with his significant other of 39 years, Marie Kubitz and his family by his side. He was born January 10, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio to James Frederick and Mary (nee Moessner) McNeeley.

He was a retired machinist where he was employed by Elwell-Parker Manufacturing for many years. He is a United States Army veteran serving in World War II. He was a member of the VFW Post #868 in Cleveland and was a four time post commander and also worked as a bartender for 20 years. He also enjoyed playing bingo, doing crossword puzzles and watching his local professional sport teams. He was a loving companion, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather and beloved uncle of many.

He is survived by his step-children; Daniel Kubitz of Medina, Dennis (Elizabeth) Kubitz of Brunswick and Sharon (William) Harries of Brunswick; his sister-in-law Juanita McNeeley of Lakewood, brother-in-law Carl Voss of Cleveland, sister, Patricia Lipcsey of Cleveland, sister Maggie (Art) Schueler of Cleveland; Grandchildren, Thomas (Susan) White of Medina, Michelle (Matt) Almady of Brunswick, Dennis Kubitz of Brunswick, Lisa Harries of Brunswick, William (Sarah) Harries of Olmsted Falls, Tiffany Harries of Parma and Ashley Harries of Brunswick; great-grand children and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Wilber (Mary) McNeeley, “Bud” Francis (Eileen) McNeeley, Raymond McNeeley, Robert (Bella) McNeeley, Marie (George) Dalton, Loretta Voss, step-son Edward and brother-in-law Adam Lipcsey.

Arrangements were entrusted to Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road Brunswick, Ohio. Chapel services will be held at Western Reserve National Cemetery on November 10, 2010.
