John Kollar, age 77, of Brunswick, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, in his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on July 28, 1943, in Seven Hills, Ohio to the late Andrew and Mary (Protz) Kollar.
He graduated from Brunswick High School in 1962, where he was the star kicker for the Blue Devils. John enjoyed carpentry, gardening, and helping others. You could always find him working on home improvements and maintaining his cars. He worked for General Motors and was a proud member of the UAW.
John is survived by his loving wife, Janice M. Kollar (Holz); children, Jacqueline Pordash (Ronald), John Kollar (Janet), Jeffrey Kollar (Mindy), Jennifer Kollar, Jason Kollar (Melanie), and Julianna Kollar; grandchildren, Michael, Stephan, Adam, Josette, Ashley, Ronald, Carly, Stephanie, Anthony, Gabriella, Jeffrey Jr., Isabella, Myah, and Hailey; great grandchildren, Gianna, Marianne, Amelia, Thomas, and Liam; and by his loving step-children and the many that called him Uncle.
In addition to his parents John is preceded in death by his siblings, Mary, Anna, Marge, Millie, Andrew, Robert, William, and Betty.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 25, 2021, from 6-8 pm in Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road, (1/2 mile south of Route 303) Brunswick, OH. John's Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Ambrose Church on Monday, July 26, 2021, at 9 am. Interment will follow at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery.
