JOHN IVAN SALIGA
August 4, 1923 — February 19, 2015
John Ivan Saliga age 91, resident of Medina, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at the Life Care Center of Medina. He was born on August 4, 1923 in Croatia to Ignac and Maria (nee Sitarik) Saliga.
John and Anne (nee Takac) shared 69 years together. They were married on December 29, 1945; and immigrated to the United States on February 7, 1963. John was the co-owner of Saliga Precision Machine with his son John; he enjoyed his photography and spending time on his computer.
John will be dearly missed by his wife, children; John (Sally), Mario (Diane), Ann (Doug) Beckman, grandchildren; Marie Saliga, Michelle (Brian) Volz, John Henry Saliga, Kimberly (Matt) St. Phillips, Allison Beckman, great-grandchildren; Hannah, Abigail, Robert, sibling Milka Stimac and sister-in-law Julia, also many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Maria (Joseph) Bogdan, Ana (Mato) Stimac, Julia (Ivan) Meoski, Ignac Saliga and brother-in-law Mijo Stimac.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, February 22, 2015 from 1 to 3 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (corner of River Styx and Rt. 18), Medina,Ohio 44256. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at St. Francis Xavier Church, 606 E. Washington St. Medina, Ohio 44256. Burial to follow in All Souls Cemetery, 10366 Chardon Road, Chardon, Ohio 44024.
