JOHN ROBERT SCHAEFER SR.

John Robert Schaefer Sr., age 83, of Brunswick, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023. He was born on August 24, 1939, to the late Joseph and Gertrude (nee Thomas) Schaefer in Cleveland.
He enjoyed traveling and world cruises, playing blackjack, and watching old western, army, and navy movies. John was a funny man, always telling jokes and making people laugh. He loved watching the Cleveland Indians (now Guardians), and the Cleveland Browns. John was kind, quick witted, loving man that will be missed by many.
John will be deeply missed by his loving children, Traci Schaefer and John R. Jr. (Dan) Schaefer; grandchildren, Chelesa Mrazik, Shelby Mrazik, Michael Mrazik Jr., and Kayleigh Jo Bair; sister, Mary Victor; sister-in-law, Diane Schaefer; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years of marriage, Sharon; siblings, Joseph Schaefer, Charles “Chuck” (Stella) Schaefer, Calvin “Bud” Schaefer, Elizabeth “Betty” (James) Yatson, Delores (James) Cole, and Cindy (Gary) Moore, Darlene Schaefer; and brother-in-law, Ronald Victor.
Per John’s wishes, he is to be cremated. Services for John are private and were entrusted to Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Rd., Brunswick, OH 44212.
