Joseph Samuel Pongonis

City: Medina : Obituary: Joseph Samuel Pongonis, age 66 of Medina, passed away May 28, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carol Ann (nee Tesar); children, Jeffrey Joseph (Nicole), Amy, and Daniel (Natacha); grandchildren, Miranda, Vaughn Joseph and Sofia; brothers Raymond and Tom (Elaine) Pons. Joseph served in the Army at Fort Dix from 1965-1971. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service and was a long standing member of the Creston Chapter, Loyal Order of the Moose. He enjoyed fishing, boating, golfing, traveling with Carol, the company of his friends, the Buckeyes, Indians and Browns. He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Josephine Pongonis, sister-in-law Rita and nephew Tom. Friends may join the family for Visitation on Wednesday May 30, 2012 from 4 to 8 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services 3477 Medina Road (corner of River Styx and Rt. 18) Medina, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held May 31, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Church, 606 E. Washington St. Medina. Fr. Lee will officiate. Please meet at Church.
