Joseph Robert Styfurak (Joe) passed away on June 25, 2018 at his home in Medina, Ohio
Joe was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to George & Anna Styfurak.
After graduating from high school in 1951, Joe enlisted in the Army where he earned the National Defense Service and Good Conduct Medals. After an Honorable Discharge in 1955, Joe remained a member of the Army National Guard until 1961.
After his Army active service, Joe worked at Alcoa Aluminum as a Manipulator Operator for 45 years. Even after retirement Joe kept himself busy by working part-time at Buehlers grocery store bagging groceries and doing maintenance work.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife Lois of 59 years, his children Teresa (Tom) Kicak, Bernadette (Todd) Mounts, Kathryn (Lester) Moes, Joseph M. Styfurak, and Kimberly (Brian) Price. His grandchildren Jacob Handlovic, Chrystal (Chet) Aden, Samantha Brown, Shaun Brown, Hannah Moes, Shane Styfurak, Courtney Styfurak, Brittany Price, Lauren (Nick) Lee, Emily Moes, Alayna Mounts, Alecia Mounts, Andrea Mounts and his great grandchildren Christopher Mechling, Spencer Aden, Araya Lee, Bentley Mounts, Matthew Willbound, Ronan O’Hara and his sister Marie Lingler. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his brother George Styfurak.
Visitation was at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Rd., Medina, Ohio 44256 on Wednesday, June 27, 2018.
Funeral Mass, Friday August 24 @ 10:30 am, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 612 E Washington St., Medina, Ohio 44256. Burial to follow at 12:30 pm, Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd. Seville, Ohio 44273.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice Services of Southwest General, 18659 Drake Rd., Strongsville, Ohio 44136.
