Jo Galvin (nee Detore), age 81, of Brunswick, OH, passed away on November 12, 2013. She was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (nee Castellano) Detore. She was born on January 13, 1932 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many, who enjoyed spending time with her family. Jo was a very independent woman who loved the outdoors, gardening, and volunteering for many organizations. Jo enjoyed caring for the flower gardens at the Medina County Senior Center, where she was known as “The Flower Lady”. She was often honored to lead the prayer at the Salvation Army dinners.
She will be dearly missed by her ex-husband Joseph Galvin; daughters, Joey and Jeanie (Charles) McKinley; sister, Aggie Serra; grandchildren, Tammy (Marc) Mellinger and Chrissy (Dustin Blake) McKinley; great-grandchildren, Talon, Kenedy, Kylie, Mykelti; sister-in-laws, May, and Caroline, and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Nick, Julian, and William; sisters, Mary Hays and Pearl Fisher; brother-in-laws, Carl Serra and Gene Fisher.
Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services have been entrusted with funeral arrangements. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
