JOSEPHINE "JO" BECKS

Josephine "Jo" Becks (nee Schottelkotte), age 96, of Medina, passed away on November 7, 2017. She was born on September 20, 1921, in Cincinnati, OH to the late John and Rose (nee Kuhn) Schottelkotte.

Josephine was a former Highland School Board Member, a member of the Leadership of Medina County and a former Hinckley Twp. Trustee. She was active for many years at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Hinckley and is a current member of St Francis Xavier in Medina. Jo was involved in many community volunteer organizations and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the YWCA. She enjoyed reading and golf.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Carolyn Meyers Hughes (Lee), Carl, Jr. (Kathleen), Mary Jo Boyes (James “Dave”), John (Cynthia), and Richard; and her 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, Sr.; and her siblings, Rose Goodbody, John and Harry Schottelkotte.

Friends may join the family for Visitation on Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 2 to 5 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road, (corner of Rt. 18 & River Styx Road), Medina, OH 44256. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 13, 2017 at 11 AM, at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 606 East Washington Street, Medina. (Please meet at the Church). Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hinckley.
