On August 24, 2015, Judith passed away at Hillcrest Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio after a brief battle with cancer. Judith was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on August 30, 1935 to Dr. Udell T. Greene and Helen Hanks Greene.
She attended Rhode Island School of Design as an architecture major and graduated from Case Western Reserve University with her BS in Interior Design. She worked with Andrews-Bartlett and Associates, Holzheimers Interiors of Cleveland, Hillson Interiors of Brookline, Massachusetts, Howard Pim Associates of Shaker Heights, and her own Judith Albert Interiors of Chagrin Falls, Ohio. She served on several industry boards throughout her career and was heavily involved with the American Society of Interior Designers, Ohio North Chapter.
Judith’s passions were the arts and travel. Teaching art classes on luxury cruises provided her the opportunity to enjoy both. She was able to travel the globe, visiting such locales as Russia, Asia, Australia, Spain, Portugal, and England to name a few.
Judith was a prolific artist, working with a variety of media including textiles, watercolors, and acrylics. Her creations have been displayed at the Cleveland Museum of Art’s May Show as well as the Valley Art Center in Chagrin Falls, among many other galleries and exhibits. Her paintings grace the homes of family, friends, and patrons.
Judith is survived by her sister, Margot Rudin of Onset, Massachusetts, nephew Steven (Jan) and grandnephew Max of Holbrook, Massachusetts; son Carlton (Debra), grandsons Louis and Nick of Chicago, Illinois; and son Christopher (Christiana), grandsons Cooper and Holden of Garrettsville, Ohio.
Judith was cremated per her wishes and buried alongside her parents at Park Cemetery in Garrettsville, Ohio. The family suggests commemorative gifts to the Cleveland Museum of Art.
