Julia Learn, 88, of Troy Township, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2014 at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born January 7, 1926 in Pennsylvania to John and Bertha Bytner.
Julia was a homemaker and a devoted parishioner of St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Parkman where she enjoyed volunteering her time and talents. She enjoyed polka music and especially spending time with her family and friends.
Julia is survived by her children, John Learn of Macedonia, Rosemary (Rodger) Roach of Middlefield, Catherine (John) Dombek of Bainbridge, Theresa (Vincent) DeSalvo of Garrettsville, Edward (Jennifer) Learn of North Carolina and Frank Learn of Troy Township; daughter-in-law, Candy Learn of Hiram; brothers, Tony (Shirley) Bytnar of Ravenna, Henry Bytner of Ravenna and sisters, Mary Rhea and Stella Fairman both of Pennsylvania, and Veronica (George) Zaczyk of Newton Falls; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Clarence; son, Clarence, brothers, Joe, Mike, Steve, Frank and John; granddaughter, Heather; and great-granddaughter, Elizabeth.
Calling hours are 10 to 11 AM on Friday, May 16, 2014 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Parkman where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 AM with Fr. John Burkley officiating. Burial will follow at Troy Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Julia’s name to St. Edward’s Catholic Church, 16150 Center St. PO Box 709, Parkman, Ohio 44080.
