JULIE T. GRAUEL

Julie T. Grauel (nee Powers), age 60, passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2018. She was born August 22, 1958 in Toledo, OH. She grew up in Copley, surrounded by her many family members and friends.

At age 18, Julie moved to Medina where she was a lifelong resident. She went on to become an X-ray technologist at Medina Hospital where she worked for 33 years. During this time, she met the love of her life, Michael E. Grauel. They married in 1987 and had two sons, Matthew and Ryan. Upon retirement, Julie worked as a cashier at Medina River Styx Buehler’s. Julie was also a member of the Guardian Angels Catholic Parish since she was a young girl.

Julie enjoyed watching sports with her family and staying active outdoors; especially walking and hiking. She also loved to read and do puzzles. Her favorite thing in life was to help others and make them happy, especially her family.

She will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Michael; sons, Matthew and Ryan; sister, Amy Lorentz (Jeff); brothers, Kenny (Sharon), Greg (Chris), Mark (Joyce), and Dennis (Patty); mother-in-law, Pat (nee Burke) Grauel; her dog, Gracie; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Annette (nee Hohenbrink) Powers; and father-in-law Thomas J. Grauel.

Friends may join the family for Julie’s visitation on Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road, Medina, OH 44256. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Julie on Friday, September 7, 2018, 10:00 am at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 1676 S. Cleveland Massillon Rd., Copley, OH 44321. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at at Spring Grove Cemetery in Medina.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Julie’s name to Guardian Angels Catholic Church.
