Kenneth Lynn Krajnak, age 77, of Medina, went to be home with his Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, January 28, 2019. He was born on February 8, 1941 in Paisley, PA to the late John Krajnak and June (nee Hewitt) Krajnak.
Ken graduated from Cumberland Township High School in 1958 in Carmichaels, PA. After graduation, he served in the United States Navy for four years in Norfolk, VA where he worked in communications and supply chain and was active participant during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Ken received an Honorable Discharge from the Navy in 1964. Ken spent over 44 years working in the Operations and Fabrication Manufacturing industry, most notably as a Field Superintendent for American Handling Equipment Co and Operations Manager for Anchor Enterprises. He was an active member of American Legion, and a founding member with John Blum (Father in Law), of the Fakowi Sportsmen Club. He loved playing slow pitch softball. Some would consider Ken the best combination of hitting and fielding shortstop in the city of Cleveland in the 1970’s, and his love for the game was passed on to his children and grandchildren.
Ken leaves behind a legacy of respect, integrity, dedication, work ethic and kindness of heart. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. He was loved by many.
He will be dearly missed by his greatest treasure and wife of 48.5 years, Gretchen (nee Blum); sons, Michael (Colleen), Robert (Rachel), Jeffrey (Kitty), Rick, Randy (Carla); 16 loving grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 11:00AM to 2:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road, (1/2 mile south of Route 303) Brunswick, OH 44212. A Funeral Service will be held for Ken at 11:00AM, Friday, February 1, at the funeral home. Inurnment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman will take place at a later date.
