LAURA M CHAREK

Laura M. Charek (nee Pfeiffer), age 94, of Medina, passed away on June 18, 2018. She was born on June 3, 1924 in Cleveland, OH, to the late William and Mary (nee Kahoun) Pfeiffer.

Laura worked for six years at Sherwin Williams, and for 26 years as a cashier at Country Counter in Richfield, OH. She enjoyed walking, square and ballroom dancing, roller and ice skating, bowling and spending time on family vacations.

She will be dearly missed by her children Ken (Karen), Dennis (Monica), Leonard (Karen), Mary Ann (Jim) Harrison, Glenn (Julia), Frank (Sue); also, her 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Laura was preceded in death by her beloved husband Frank; and her siblings, Raymond, William and Mildred Wojtila.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Monday, June 25, 2018, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road, Medina, OH 44256. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Laura on Tuesday, June 26, 12:00 PM, at St. Francis Xavier Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina, OH. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery Rittman, Seville, OH.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made in Laura’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or St. Francis Xavier Church.
